Candela Laser Hair Removal – Treatment Recommendations

 Before Your Treatment (Pre-Care)

To achieve the safest and most effective results, please follow these steps before your appointment:

 2–4 Weeks Before:

• Avoid waxing, plucking, threading, or depilatory creams — the laser needs the hair root intact.

• Shaving is fine and encouraged.

• Limit sun exposure, sunbeds, and fake tan in the treatment area.

• Always apply SPF 30+ daily to protect your skin.

24 Hours Before:

• Shave the treatment area thoroughly.

• Avoid heavy creams, deodorants, or lotions on the area before your appointment.

• Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your session.

⚠️ Important:

• Inform your therapist of any new medications, recent skin treatments, or changes in your health.

• Avoid using active skincare (e.g. retinol, acids, or exfoliants) for at least 3 days before treatment.

 After Your Treatment (Post-Care)

To ensure your skin heals beautifully and results develop evenly:

For the first 24–48 hours:

• Mild redness or warmth is normal, this will subside within a few hours.

• Apply a soothing aloe vera gel or post-laser cream as needed.

• Avoid hot baths, showers, saunas, and exercise for 24 hours.

• Do not apply deodorant or perfumed products on the treated area for 24 hours.

 Ongoing Care:

• Avoid sun exposure and fake tan for 7–10 days after treatment.

• Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ on all exposed areas daily.

• Exfoliate gently (after 5–7 days) to encourage hair shedding.

• Do not pluck, wax, or thread between sessions — only shave if needed.

Treatment Course Recommendations

• A course of 6–8 sessions, spaced every 4–6 weeks, is recommended for optimal long-term results. Some cases need more and it depends on the hair strength, area and hormonal changes.

• Hair growth will reduce progressively with each session.

• Maintenance sessions may be needed once or twice a year depending on hormonal or hair growth factors.
